What trail goes all the way to Gilroy? We did Coyote Creek, but that ends around Morgan Hill.

You've gotten lots of good info and suggestions so far; I would only add that if you ride the Coyote Creek trail and it's nice tomorrow (likely), watch out for the squirrels (w/o the bushy tails)... Perhaps even go to your LBS and indulge in a tasteful little bell. Enjoy the ride!

What a beautiful bike!

I can't imagine riding our tandem without the Thudbuster. Comfort > speed/looks, IMNTBHO.

We've done a number of centuries on the tandem, including the Marin Century, twice. That's my favorite by far.

I hope you and your stoker enjoy many happy hours on that bike.

Ruthie got a Selle-Anatomica saddle and is pretty comfortable without a thud-buster. Does the changing effective saddle height mess with your knees/pedaling?

happy to report the inaugural first run was a smashing success, what was supposed to be a test and tweak ride turned into a fabulous 40 mile jaunt! We were both smiling ear to ear. Out and back avg of about 15ish out and 17.5 back (nice little tailwind)

man i should have bought one of these years ago wheeeeeeeee!

now for a supported metric century!

oh and i actually had a specialized ruby 143 (that i won in a mens crit ha!) had no idea it was gender specific as it has just sat on a shelf for a couple of seasons, imagine my delite! Wife wore some of my shorts and was not shy about telling me she needs her own gear...time to go shopping ;-)

I found that telling my wife about the new clothes shopping beforehand was my best tool in "persuading" her to get the tandem! Cheers!

I have a Selle San Marco Glamour on top of the thudbuster, and it's been like that since we bought the bike in '07. Since I haven't had any trouble with it (once we got it adjusted) I haven't had need to tweak it.

I notice my knees bother me sometimes if we're standing and climbing a big hell...since we're out of phase I can't rock the bike as I do with my Diva. It feels a little like dancing with someone who's just off the beat.
