Mt Hamilton condition on Sunday

I've never ridden Mt Hamilton in winter. I'm wondering what it will be on this Sunday? Snowy icy road? Is it safe to go down? Cold?

Road is probably OK if it doesn't rain/snow too heavily on Saturday. They don't really salt or sand or anything, but you can always ride up and just turn around if the road starts getting sketchy.

Be careful on the first descent, it can be shaded and slick from the day before.

Thanks Ygduf. Sounds like the condition could be iffy. I was thinking to ride the back side of Mt Hamilton from Pleasanton/Livermore; so turning around may not be a good option. Maybe I'll just do some hill repeats near home...

here's a web page you should bookmark:

http://mthamilton.ucolick.org/techdocs/MH_weather/

up to the minute, weather info, webcams, and highway information. Right now, the webcams seem frozen, the telescope weather stations say it's 32 degrees up at Lick Observatory, and the highway information site says 130 is closed at the Grant Park entrance. I'd probably stick to a ride with a little lower elevation until the road thaws out...

Cool! Thanks Harun. Bookmarked. Looks like white-out condition now.
