Going to ride the 120km Silicon Valley Tour De Cure and the route climbs both Kings Mtn from Woodside and Tunitas Creek from Hwy 1. I've never been to both of these places but would like to ride it prior to the event just so I know what I'm up against.

Is it safe to go up solo on either of this 2 places? Can anyone suggest for about a 30-40mi route that will take me up to Kings Mtn? Likewise a 30-40 mile route over at Tunitas Creek?

I do those solo all the time. You can start at Woodside, go up Kings, go down Tunitas and come back the same way. If you want to make a loop, take Skyline -> 84 west -> Stage -> Hwy 1 -> Tunitas. (IE; skip Pescadero)

Sure. Start in Woodside at near Roberts Market. Go west on Hwy 84, turn right on to Kings Mountain Road. Cross Skyline at top of climb. Descend Tunitas Creek Road. Stop at end of Tunitas Creek where it meets the Pacific Coast Highway. Turn around. Reverse your route. You get to climb and descend both Kings & Tunitas! Tunitas isn't a great descent but it's better now that it's been repaved. Make sure your brakes are in good working order, keep to your right, If you have a blinkie, it's a good idea to use it if you're riding solo. Tunitas Creek is heavily shaded even on a sunny day. You can get water outside at Roberts Market. the Old Woodside Storage at Tripp and Kings Mountain Road, and at the red barn on Tunitas Creek about a mile from the turnaround point.

Thanks J. Your strava route is almost exactly the same as the event route. I was hoping to not climb both hills at the same time until the day of the event but I like the go up Kings and go down to Tunitas then come back.
