Lots of great rides. Either drive or ride to the intersection of Canada Road and Highway 92. To ride, take 3rd Avenue along the Bay then through San Mateo. Turn left onto Crystal Springs Road which turns into Polhemus road. Just after crossing Highway 92, there is a parking area and Bike Path to your right which takes you down to Canada Road.

From there take Canada Road south to Woodside, then up Kings Mountain or Old La Honda Road. Both are good local/benchmark climbs to Skyline Blvd. Descend Highway 84 or Highway 92 (much more traffic) back to Canada road and the reverse back to Foster City.

Foster City to Canada Road to Kings to Skyline to 92 and back should be about 35-40 miles with ~3,000ft of climbing.

Search Strava, mapmyride.com or your favorite site for more detailed routes/maps.

My favorite Silicon Valley bike ride. Not too far from Foster City. Do the loop in the clockwise direction.

Cool routes, I'll check them out. Thanks!

Should be 10-15 degrees cooler than down here in the almost-desert.

Look like this is going to turn into a family ride. Son on the trail a bike and maybe even the wife. That's cool, we'll find our way to the trail by the bay I guess.

If you have the family, you can ride up as far as you want to SF or even down to SJ, then hop on Caltrain with you bike back.

I'll check it out. Maybe a nice cafe stop as a destination.
