Heading north, it starts in Cambria; there's a respite between Pico Creek bridge and the Hearst Castle entrance, where it continues to some point further North, about 25 miles, according to the articles and petitions.

Me headed up last Saturday to have a peek. On reaching the transition, thought, hmm... not so bad ...for the first two crank revolutions; by the fourth turn, concluded: Never will I ride this section, not on my #1 or any other road bike; #2 mountain, fitted with the big slicks, maybe. From there, headed up the side street for a pee, then back South.

BTW, Kelleys in Cayucos is the place't get a cup of coffee and a treat, imnsho

Sunday, we drove up to see the Elephant Seals. We saw some dozens riding south over the new surface, on road bikes - looked like they were surviving o.k.

Meh, it's ruined. Yes, the rocks are ~1/2 to 3/4 inches. Yes, there are loose rocks. Yes, there are pits, holes, cracks, and such. Yes, it sucks.

There's still many miles of good roads though, time to go hit 'em!
