Diablo Crash?

Was talking to a buddy of mine this morning and he said on Friday mid morning, while coming down SG he saw a rider down, motionless, and "a pool of blood" . There were already rangers and good samaritans on scene, so he didn't want to add to the chaos, and kept riding. He said the location was just past the gate (last house) on SG, but the odd thing was that he said the person was down in the uphill lane. We've tried Googling it, but there is no mention of it that I've seen. I'm just wondering if this was a solo crash, or if there were vehicles involved, especially considering the person was lying in the uphill lane. Has anyone heard anything about this crash, I pray the person turns out to be ok!

I wish there was a local newspaper (like we have one...) , or park site that would post whatever details they have on stuff like this, just so we can learn.

A woman was helicoptered out on the 17th - I must have missed seeing her by only about 20 minutes from the description.

WALNUT CREEK -- A 30-year-old woman crashed her bike Saturday on Mount Diablo and had to be flown to a hospital for treatment, a fire official said.
The woman, who has not been identified, most likely lost control of her bike around 10:42 a.m. while she was riding on Northgate Road roughly a quarter mile from the junction of Southgate and Northgate roads, said Battalion Chief Derek Krause of the San Ramon Valley Fire District. She veered off the road and down a 15-foot embankment.

Sadly, this is probably more common than not, so perhaps unless the person dies, it's not news-worthy. I just want to know if it was bike vs. car, and what the circumstances were, if that is the case. Most drivers on Diablo are patient, but there's always that one car...

A few months ago I was stopped at the ranger station on the way down SG because of emergency helicopter activity. A rider was down and we were told by the ranger that he had passed.
I couldn't find anything about the accident in the following weeks. Absolutely nothing!
Was it a solo crash? Was a car involved?
