And it's Active.com! Not so many rides/activities use them much anymore - watch for those bogus charges!

EDIT: We are signed up.

Had a blast last year. Very well organized. Will go again with some friends riding steel.
Maybe more riding and less drinking this time. There are some great farm roads off of the main route...

Yes there are! That is a beautiful shot.

For those that don't know about this ride, the route takes the riders to some of the best wineries within the Lodi area. There you can taste and eat to your hearts delight. If you want to purchase a anything (bottle, case, merch), the organizers will pick it up for you and deliver it back to the start finish.

Weather is going to be perfect on Sunday!!

I had a practice glass of wine last night just to make sure I'm ready for this ride. It went pretty well, so I'll see you all there.

Really enjoyed the ride today, especially considering I don't drink wine. I primarily went with work friends who enjoy wine and ending up taking advantage of the delivery service. The first few wineries were extremely busy (and woefully understaffed) for demand. By the time we got to Harmony we were running stopwatches (26 minutes). Still though, fun was had by all.

The wind tunnel testing section on every northbound road, especially to Michael David was definitely something!

Starting late we enjoyed a nice roll through the vineyards around Lodi. We had the wineries to ourselves and made heavy use of the wine shuttle. Pretty substantial winds prior to the lunch stop were not enjoyed by all.

It was windy, but not nearly as bad as it was a few years ago. It was odd that the day got cooler as it went on.

Isn't it odd to have a ride with only 45 degree turns and no hills? It was sure different for us.

We left early and had no crowd issues at all.
We bought a bunch of tasty wine, and even sprung for a case of Seven Deadly Zins on a huge sale. Also scored a Williams Wheels shirt and some socks.

It was odd the the only wine I tasted all day that I didn't think qualified as "good" was the $4 glass at the end of the ride. Maybe I'd just been spoiled...

I'll be posting a huge blog report with photos later, but in the meantime, my rating for this ride is very high. Had a blast. Stopping every few miles for a taste of wine is really different experience from most rides, and one I greatly enjoyed.

Other wine Drinkers: What wine did you like most?

Other wine Drinkers: What wine did you like most?
Macchia - Bodacious
Harney Lane - Tempranillo

But for the most part the first 5 stops are really good, I liked Ripken as well. Cycles is worthwhile as you'd be hard pressed to find as drinkable a syrah for that price point. I feel the post lunch stop wineries suffer from burnout and a sense of time to get moving. I wonder if they ever consider reversing the course. This is my third GdV, and other roadies have expressed, I guess wonderment, as why you would do a ride like this. You need to get in a relaxed mode, ride your lazy bike, stop and enjoy the wineries. There are some gems here.

Yes! on all counts. Fun ride and a bargain if you consider the opportunity to try 60 plus wines, snacks, and ride recently swept roads (The city street sweeper truck was leaving Michael David's at 9:05 on a sunday) for 50 bucks.

Look forward to your blog post cccorlew.

You can make whatever you want from this ride. I got a great workout going into that wind…I'm not sure what these women's story was but they obviously know how to have fun on and off wheels...

Here's my blog post. It may change a bit after Tricia does her editing magic and makes sure it makes sense, or reminds me i left something out, or shouldn't have put in something I did.
