Shop with good selection of shoes?

Title says it: I have hard-to-fit feet, and my shoes (SPD) are wearing out. What are some greater Bay Area shops with big selections of cycling shoes? Even though I ride road, I need mountain shoes, since I still have to walk up a hill occasionally. I'd like to find a shop with some less standard brands. If it's near BART or a ferry or Caltrain or a nice ride from same so much the better. I've tried REI and Sports Basement and my neighborhood shops. Thanks!

What makes your feet hard to fit?
One option is to look at sizing charts at things from the manufacturers and then find a local distributor for a brand that looks good. There's a distributor for every brand of shoes somewhere in the bay area.

Having a local shop may ultimately may not be helpful. Most bike shops tend to carry the normal sizes, but may not have wide/narrow shoes. If you want an off-size shoe, its up to store's return policy since you'll need a special order. One shop (Livermore Cyclery) had a full refund, even on a special order. Another major chain shop was store credit only.
