NorCal East, BF Group Ride

Ok folks, I keep trying to get ya'll to come out here for a ride. Here's the route that I'm thinking of. It's a beautiful ride, my favorite in the area. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/3522737 There's a lunch stop at a Subway in Shingle Springs. Maybe if we plan it now, we can make it happen. We can even do dinner at my place post ride.

If we do it from my house, it's more like 82mi, but it's a shorter drive . Open to either a Saturday or a Sunday. Thinking mid-March.

Comments? Interest?

Cool route. There are quite a few variations that can be spun off of that route. I'd tweak your departure from Folsom to include going up Beatty then down Montridge and up Wilson to get to EDH.

Alternates could include a simple lake loop up through Salmon Falls or a more lengthy and painful lake loop through Georgetown.

No worries. Good route for sure. I'll keep an eye out for it getting a scheduled date and try to jump in.

If you like Beatty, there's a 2hour "how many times can you climb it" challenge on Jan 1. 9am sign up at the park on Alexandra, climbing starts at 10. I will not be there. I used to climb it twice a week, but we just don't get along. Something about that little climb just doesn't work for me.

Funny, I was just looking at the Hammerin' Wheels sign up for that. Much like you, I don't get along with Beatty and I have little interest in doing repeats on it. I saw there were a few folks singed up for 18 or so repeats...I'll pass.

I owe you an IN. This looks like a great route. Fingers crossed the date works.

I'm in too. I would prefer the less driving, more riding 80 mile option, but count me in for either.

Looks like enough of you are interested. As we hit March, I'll start tracking the weather and pick a date about a week out.

Do you prefer a Saturday or a Sunday?

Either works, but Sunday is preferred. Looks like March 8/9, 22/23 is free.

It looks as of now I'd be in for the ride too. I live in Yuba City now. Route looks great!

We're closing in on March. I'll pick a Saturday in another few weeks, looking for a long term forecast where the weather is favorable. We'll meet at my place and have a meal/beer post ride.

I'm really looking forward to hosting ya'll in my neck of the woods this time.

Incidentally, I'm planning to do the route this Sunday. I want to get an idea of total ride time with the Subway lunch stop. If any of you are interested in coming up to preview the route, please let me know! Roll time from my place is 9am. I live about 10mi East of Sacramento. I'll be happy to send my address via PM.

Weather for Sunday looks outstanding. Sunny and 70!

Yup, road bikes. I expect that on Sunday we'll be pacing 18'ish on flats. Regroups at hill tops. The ride is pretty hilly, with grades over 17%. Lots of climbing. I've been put to shame buy guys on hybrids, so you could be fine.

Sounds good. I can't ride this weekend, but hopefully can make the group ride.

The group ride is likely to be a bit slower
