Interested in a hilly, challenging route from Concord to Sunol/Niles, then to Fremont
Hey,
Long-time reader, but first-time poster. I've done a lot of little rides over maybe the past year, but haven't really gotten into doing longer rides until the last month or so. I think I've definitely become a much stronger rider (I've gotten up Mt. Diablo in the past week, and also did my longest ride, which was 50 miles w/3000 ft gain in rural Sonoma). I'd like to challenge myself a bit more, and was hoping that one of you all could help me with a good hilly, challenging route from, as the title suggested, Concord to Sunol/Niles, and then onto Fremont to take BART back. I was looking at the following roads as possibilities: Morgan Territory (seems like a much better option to get out of Concord than 10 miles of flat bike trails), Calaveras, Palomares, Foothill, and of course Niles Canyon Road. I have a bit of apprehension about the first and last of those, not so much because of the terrain as the traffic (directly on Niles Canyon Road, and not on Morgan Territory, but getting out to it on the unavoidable Marsh Creek. I've heard nasty things about both. But I'm open as long as the route fits my parameters. Any input/suggestions?
thanks!

I suggest PH Bart to Fremont Bart via The Mount Diablo Junction climb and The Caleveras Road Climb.
Link to Route: PH Bart to Fremont Bart: Hilly
75 miles with 5,300 feet
I don't suggest roads I have not ridden. I have ridden every road on the route.
You said you wanted hilly. This fills the bill.
Mount Diablo to The Junction is justly famous. Calaveras Road is a nice low traffic climb with plenty of shade.
