I drove part of it Saturday as a fine alternative to the parking lot of 101 northbound... new pavement, marked bike lanes, goes up to meet San Antonio Road & the sign say it opened on Friday (it was empty! None of those hundreds of stalled motorists seemed to have a clue, I just tried it out of curiosity) -- anyone know if it can be used to ride down into Novato (and further) as an alternative to Petaluma-Pt-Reyes?

Thanks for this update -- this will be a very useful route. A few weeks ago the frontage road between Novato (as an extension of Redwood Blvd) and Olompali SP opened -- and now this portion is from the Redwood Landfill interchange to San Antonio Road. Between Olompali and Redwood Landfill is a bike path, which is why you didn't see any cars driving on the frontage road. Details here: New frontage road opens in The Narrows | Road Warrior
