Recommend me a Good Shop in Santa Cruz, CA

Didn't see a thread for this, so I thought I'd start one.

Any recommendations for a good shop in Santa Cruz, CA?

Moved from SS/FG to regionals norcal

Not really familiar with Santa Cruz but usually there are good bike shops near college campuses. I happen to know of a certain University of California that has a banana slug mascot campus up there in Santa Cruz.

Yeah. I'm moving that way. But I posted this in the SS/FG forum because not all shops cater equally well to SS/FG. Thanks.

Yeah it's going to be a stretch considering it's not really urban but your best bet is college shops that are after student's financial aid money.

There's nothing wrong ordering online though; you'll save more especially considering the premium put on fixed gear/ track parts due to what you mentioned.

True enough. I'm really just looking for a good shop with fair prices to do things like cut a steerer tube and work with me on stem and handle bar fit.

I've never been to the bike shops in SC but there is Epicenter Cycling, Sprockets, Bicycle Trip, and ABS (Another Bike Shop). I personally go to Family Cycling Center on 41st Ave. in Capitola because its closer to where I live. Everyone there is pretty helpful and its a cool shop too.

Santa Cruz is home to one of the very best shops in all of Northern California.
The Spokesman on Cathcart Street, right downtown.

Tell 'em Lance Oldstrong sent you. Say hi to Wade.

Try Spokesman on Cathcart. Our cycling club goes to Santa Cruz every year to ride (we're down here now) and usually get friendly good service from these people.
