Routes to Yosemite

A and B

Which is better? I like the extra climbing in A, but how does the traffic compare? Is there a 3rd way that's better? (No BART allowed.)

Since I start from San Ramon I've always taken a slightly more northern route on the way to Yosemite (via Oakdale and Groveland and then 120 into the park), but I've sometimes come back on a route similar to your 'A.' Didn't have any problems, but the last time I was on Old Toll Rd. outside of Mariposa it was in miserable condition - just patches on top of other patches. That was a number of years ago so I hope it's finally gotten some new pavement instead of still more patches.
