Issaquah end of July
Coming to visit some family at the end of July for a week and bringing my bike... can anyone suggest areas and groups around Issaquah to ride with? I've not ridden up there before and very excited coming from the Texas heat!!

From Issaquah you can basically ride any road, any direction. Very bicycle friendly area with bike lanes and decent shoulders. Ride along Lake Sammamish, steep hills up to the plateau, paved MUP to the East, lots of winding roads to the South.

Cascade Bicycle Club is the 90lb cycling gorilla in the area. Check their website for rides, they are a '.org'
I'm just outside Issaquah and would caution that there is lots of fast traffic on many of the roads. So while there are rides in every direction, some discretion with which road at which time could be important in the 'quality of enjoyment'.
With a Spec Tarmac what kind of riding do you prefer? Distances? I can recommend.
My typical rides are 30-40mi @ 15/18 avg + stops.
Edit: Also a decent bike shop on Main St, in "Downtown" Issaquah. Mostly Treks, but the shop has been in Issaquah quite a while.

Thank you for the replies. For the trip I'm looking at 25 to 40 mile rides to keep my time down... my wife and kids don't want me gone all day... the area I live in is pretty flat but I'm anxious to ride in that area so all recommendations are appreciated!

I live in Issaquah and can recommend as a start, the trip around Lake Sammamish. It's relatively flat but like others have mentioned, this area is hilly. Once you're ready for hills, you can either head east to Fall City/Carnation, or head west and do the typical Mercer Island south end loop coming back on May Valley. As someone suggested, Cascade has lots of meetup and I would suggest looking on their calendar. Some of the rides start near/in Issaquah, or in Redmond at Marymoor park.
