Portland, OR community traffic discussion this Wednesday, 9/27

There will be a community discussion about ideas for traffic safety this Wednesday, September 27th, from 7:30pm-9:00pm in the Community Room at People's Co-op, 3029 SE 21st Ave. at SE Tibbetts. What originally inspired this meeting were messages on the Traffic Safety listserv regarding the deaths of area cyclists this summer and discussion about some effort to get a vehicular homicide law passed for Oregon. Now that it seems PDOT, at the behest of the Portland Police, will be heavily lobbying for this in the coming legislative session. From what I understand, this means it is likely to happen, so the focus of this meeting will probably end up broader, so please bring your ideas to promote traffic safety. I realize that this is going to conflict with the cyclocross clinic at Alpenrose, but it's not easy to get space in the People's Community Room. Hope to see you there!
