Portland: Bike n Hike employee assaults customer

The employee Paul (he told me he was the manager) decided that I was asking too much of a pair of pants and wouldn't warranty them. I of course, started to get irate that I spent $130 on a pair of pants that don't do what a $20 pair does. Since I obviously wanted somthing he wasn't about to give me, he decided to end the
discussion. Within 30 seconds it went from "You're going to have to leave" to assault. He called for help, rushed me, hit me, then thought better of it, and then pushed and wrestled me to the door. Since I was still arguing my dissatifaction with the pants, I wasn't really resisting, and no one was seriously hurt. But I was still attacked because Paul didn't want to accept the fact that these rainpants leave my thighs itchy after a little ride in the rain.

I buy a lot of things like this from REI because of their return policy, which is "If you don't like it, or if it isn't right, well take it back and give you a refund". To me that is worth a lot!

Bike n' Hike, so noted on my ****list.

You do have to wonder how fair the story is. It may of happened how it was written, it may have not. People often skew things around to make others support them. The shop employee may have been in the right. I don't know, you don't know for sure. The customer may of been in the right.

It just seems a bit odd to me that a regular employee would attack a customer for no reason whatsoever. It's not his dime he's spending from the rain pants refund.

I'm guessing that the core of the story is true, but there is a lot that wasn't written that escalated this situation.

And no, I'm not a Bike -n- Hike employee or anything. I don't even know where the place is.

My apologies and to whomever was in the right in this situation. Only they know who is who.
