Elma Washington
Has anyone climbed up to the Satsup Development park where the nuke cooling tower is just out of Elma? I'm going to be in Elma late August and I hoping for a few suggestions on good rides in the area.
Thanks,
Chris

Are they good greaseburgers? Like the ones you can get in Elbe?

As long as this is turning into a hamburger thread
My wife and I rode from Olympia to Rainier the other day. In Rainier, the wife was starving. We rode to both ends of Rainier (that took 30 seconds) and found 3 places to eat. One was a pseudo Chinese eatery located in the local Texaco , a casual sit-down restaurant and a small place advertising espresso and pizza. We dicided on the pizza place even thought the wife really wanted a burger. To our delighted surprise, once inside, the menu was quite extensive for the size of the place. And since they had outdoor seating, we figured what the heck. To our even bigger delighted surprise, the burgers were excellent! Hand formed patty, real cheese (not the "American" variety) and what seemed to be fresh baked buns. Can't wait to ride there again. If you go, it is right in the middle of town, next to the grocery store. Give it a try.
Don't even ask about the ride back to Oly after that meal

E.H. your name always catches my eye. I was born and raised on the East Hill of Kent....many years ago. Haven't lived there in 15 years. Been through there a few times. My how it has changed. And not all for the better. Ah, the good old days.

Haven't seen that yet. Will have to check that out after a burger next time.

I'm about a quarter of a mile from Kentridge HS, by the way.

Back on topic--I can't help you with the Satsop area, but there's some good MTB at Capitol Forest outside of Olympia, if that helps any.
Dodging back to burgers:
I don't know about milkshakes in Elbe (too many calories for me!), but we still love the burgers at the scale place .

Kentridge is my alma mater. I grew up just off Benson Hwy, on 192nd. Where I work, we have 60 employees and there are 4 of us that graduated from Kentridge, all over 20 years ago. Plus 2 that graduated from Kent Meridian HS, but we don't care about them

+1 on those burgers. The first time I rode to Rainier, I headed over to Tenino, wandered around a while & couldn't find my way back to the Chehalis Western trail, so I rode back to Olympia on Highway 99. It is a direct route with reasonably wide shoulders most of the way, lots of large truck traffic though.
