I just got my ticket off craigslist... I've been trying for months to find one - so as a RSVP rookie, any pointers?
How frequent are the food stocked rest stops? I've read you need to self support to some degree...

Food stops are scarce. First day at Lake Stevens and Mt Vernon. Most riders seem to enjoy lunch in Arlington. Second day there are only two the are different then last year so I would have to look at my packet to find out where they are.
Pointer: Be prepared to climb a few hills on both days. But most of all just enjoy the scenery it is awesome. And there is very little mechanical support if you have a bike malfunction. So make sure it is tuned up and ready to go.
The beer is cold at the finish line

I am doing it for the third year in a row too! I did the STP in 2004 but after doing the RSVP I'll never do the STP again. There is just too many people and the scenery is boring. I just bought a Surly Long Haul Trucker so this will be its inaugural ride.
Praying for cool weather. Have a good ride.

It stands for Ride form Seattle to Vancouver and Party". It got its start in 1980 because of Mt St Helens erupting they had to cancel the STP that year. It is a two day supported ride sponsored by the Cascade Bicycle Club.

It's like a bookend to STP. STP starts in Seattle, and goes down to Portland OR (through Vancouver WA). Riders return to Seattle.
RSVP starts in Seattle, and goes up to Vancouver, BC. Riders return to Seattle.

Here's to good weather and a good ride all. Maybe I'll find a nice steady paceline with one of you and we'll enjoy the scenery and grab a beer together! Well I just checked the weather, and it might change, but a Friday calling for showers!
