Best way out of Portland?

G'day Folks.

My and I will arriving in Portland by Amtrak early October 07, and will be heading over to the Pacific coast to continue our North American tour via the Adventure Cycling Pacific Coast route. Do any of you have any suggestions as to which way to go from the train station and if there is a good campground or free camping area on the way to the coast?

We are riding LoGo Recumbent Trikes and towing a Bob trailer so some narrow cycle paths, gates and the like are often a problem.

Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

Regards

Andrew

Sounds like a lot of fun, Andrew. I'd start out by checking out this site. It's run by our city government, and they're full of bike people. The guy who put that page together is Jeff Smith, and he's the "bike touring expert" at PDOT. I think he'd be able to help you out with any particulars that page doesn't have, so I will send you a PM with his contact information.
