Spokane advice needed

Does anyone know of a shop that rents bikes in downtown Spokane? In a couple of weeks I'm going to be going to a conference in Spokane. I'd like to bike the Centennial Trail, which is close to my hotel.

Also, would there happen to be a shuttle service that would bring me back from Couer d'Alene? That's not as critical as a place to rent bikes. I could ride 25 miles out or so and then ride back.

Are there convenience stores or restaurants along the trail?

Thanks!

Spoke-N Sport rents bikes. Sorry, I couldn't find a web site for them but they are at 212 N. Division, near the corner of Spokane Falls Blvd. - -very near the hotels and Convention Center. Telephone number is 509-838-8842. I have no idea what they have available but a call to them will answer that for you.

Plenty of commercial between Spokane and C d'A near the trail. A new connector can carry you over the freeway to the shopping center at Liberty Lake in the Spokane Valley; the trail passes right through Post Falls, ID; and here's a c-store at Ross Point Road. When you get to Coeur d'Alene, hit the Coeur d'Alene Brewery and reward yourself with a tall cool one and some fish & chips before pedalling back.

I'm not aware of any shuttle services; but if you got back over the state line as far as Liberty Lake, you could catch an STA transit bus back to downtown.

dminor, thanks for the great information. Anyone else have thoughts?

I second what dminor said. For another ride idea, try taking the Centenial Trail west from downtown; it's less urban, more scenic, and slightly hilly. If you're looking for something even more adventurous, check out bikely.com's spokane search. People have put up ton's of Spokane rides on the site: http://www.bikely.com/listpaths/coun...168/city/11529

If your more into off road riding the Centennial Trail runs through Riverside State park which has a great network of trails. Even if you don't head off road the it's the most scenic part of the Centennial trail. Check out
http://www.spokanecentennialtrail.org/ for more info. Bring some warm riding gear it's been a wee bit chilly and rainy lately.
