I'm not certain. There's none of those fluffy white things I normally see either.

I think I may have to go and take a closer look.

It's awfully bright. Kind of yellowish white, too. I think I need to give it some more study, so I'm heading outdoors. I don't think it's a blimp. I think it might be THE SUN !

Wish me luck .

Fear not. It has disappeared again. You may return to your normal level of panic.

An early appearance of the scare-ball is pretty unusual around here. I wasn't expecting to see it for another few months.
Although, it did give me a greater appreciation for the new apartment I'm moving into. The light exposure is phenominal! Moving from a first floor apartment with very poor light exposure (even on sunny days we need to have a light or two on inside) to a green-design apartment with 3 floor-to-ceiling windows with awesome exposure is quite a difference! No more sunlamps for the plants! Yay for not living in a cave anymore.

I had a great time yesterday -- did a loop around the North End of Lake Washington, a loop around Mercer Island, and some other bits just so I could say I did 50 miles (actually did a bit over 51). Really a nice day for a ride, lots of folks out on bikes. I even saw 5 guys on unicycles doing a lap of Mercer Island.

I think it was just something myths are made of. I even think I saw Rainier. Then again, I didn't eat much before or during my ride. I was probably bonking. Never mind.

All I can tell you is that this past evening when I went to work--it had started to snow on the East Hill. Didn't stick at all, but still...

I just got into downtown Seattle from the Eastside -- lots of icy patches on the way in. The I-90 bikepath on Mt. Baker, the foot of the I90 bikepath near Rainier Blvd, the International District all had icy patches. I also hit a patch of ice on 4th Ave. downtown and slipped but didn't fall.

Just when I thought I had survived it all, a woman opened her car door into me right on 4th Ave (I was watching for it and just barely got brushed by it...).

I'm heading into downtown Kent from the East Hill in about an hour, and noticed that there is still frost on the shady spots of the road. I will have to be careful!

And that big yellow thing is back in the sky...must be the end of the world coming!

The Burke-Gilman wasn't the best. The worst part was keeping out of old tracks. As I headed towards Fremont from Ballard, the frozen bike- and foot- prints made it very hazardous. By the time I got to the Fremont Bridge, I was done. I walked most of the way down to South Lake Union.

Maybe that yellow-thingy is the UFO they reportedly saw just a couple of days ago down south.

I really didn't have any problems on my way in this morning. It was cold and there were icy puddles up on the Burien hill, so I stayed more to the road than the shoulder. As I neared downtown Seattle, the icy places became more common and some snow started showing up. There was snow in the Olympic Sculpture Park. This is the first time I've seen that.

I think the big yellow thing is a varmit that escaped from Eastern Washington, and it can't find its way home.

Man, it's weird around here when it snows. The convergence zone parked over us on the Sammamish Plateau last night and we got 3-4 inches of snow in 2 hours. Then it all froze. Shoulders all gone, cars skidding everywhere, no riding to work for me today- took the bus. We get to Bellevue and there's almost nothing, the roads are dry. Then to Seattle and there's snow on the ground again. Winter in this place likes to play with your mind.

Whew. Back to normal. I'm thinking that that UFO sighted in Texas got scared off and fled to a more hospitable locale.
