Seattle Century ride report
The Seattle Century came up a few weeks ago, and I rode it today. Here's my ride report:

Like most organized rides, I thought meeting new people made it worthwile.
I think the crew from PDX did a quick (but not thorough) cut and paste job and moved their century up to Seattle for a weekend.

Funny, I ran across this yesterday, sounds like you guys did different events:

"Some friends and I rode the first ever Seattle Century ride today and OMG, it was the best ride I’ve ever been on..."Some of the later comments seem more in line with your experience though.

i like the comments on the cascade forum about "the hills were too hard"
welcome to riding in seattle!
did this ride give out cue sheets, or were the DH's the only way to navigate the course?

Somehow I think I trust the less-glowing reviews a bit more... I'll have to borrow a bike and hit up zoo hill when I'm in town in a few weeks.

LOL...
I was taking a break from my road bike Sunday and was in the Fall City parking lot off Hwy 203 getting geared up to do some mountain biking at Tokul when an obviously lost rider pulled in. He had a number on his bars and a cue sheet but looked confused. He asked me "Can you tell me how to get to Preston?" so I explained to him that he needed to cross the bridge into Fall City and not take 202 to Redmond, etc...
He rolled out still looking confused and I headed up to the dirt. I remember thinking, "WTF is he going to Preston for? Are they going to ride I90?". Sheesh, I'd have been pissed if I saw that route change.

I rode the Tour de Peaks Sunday (out in North Bend/Snoqualmie) and while driving back toward town on I90 I saw two riders w/numbers on their bikes riding west on I90 (between the Fall City exit and Issaquah).
While I don't *know* that they were from the Seattle Century, after reading some of the ride reports referred to above I am guessing at least a few people got lost and resorted to the I90 shoulder to get home.

I could hang with Kent, but he's not (by his own admission) very fast. Others - well, two cracked ribs this spring and a nagging knee injury kept me a bit slow...
