Wanted: RAMROD Entry Ticket

I will pay you for your RAMROD entry slot if you have decided not to ride. I'd love to ride and I'd be happy to pay you appropriately.

Please call 206 399 3902 anytime.

Thanks.

That's not how it works. If you don't have a ticket and you're not on the wait list, at this point you'll have to wait until next year. Even if you pay someone for their slot you won't get a packet if you are not on the list.

You can ride the course on your own on any other day of the year, the Seattle International Randonneurs can help you out:

Or, just ride it. It's a public road and the food they supply doesn't sound so great anyway.

yeah, i know of some peeps that will be "bandits" on the ride.

as long as you don't take the free food/water, no problem. like others said, it's a public road (even though ramrod org is waaay against bandits).

just go for it!

I know this has been said a million times and it's futile if you are determined to pirate but think about this. The Park service grants a permit for the ride based on controlling the number of riders. The club pays for the permit and also separately contributes a lot of money to the park fund. The park service can and will refuse to grant the permit if the ride is not done in accordance with their rules. Is it worth that risk to ride on that particular day, without the benefit of of any support? There are at least 4 months of other days every year where you can do an unsupported RAMROD without ****ing with the arrangement that makes the ride possible. Really, what do you gain from pirating the ride? Just because you have the right to do something doesn't make it the right thing to do.

cheq, i get your drift. personally, i won a spot in the lottery, so i won't have to bandit this thing.

but does a few extra riders really hurt? is the parks service actually counting the number of riders?

at worst i'd think that the extra parking spots are the main issue. which is why i'm riding to the ride.

edit: an "open letter" to bandits from the organizers: https://www.redmondcyclingclub.org/cl...er_072808.html

didn't read it, but others might be interested.
