Route from SE Portland to Mt. Angel

Greetings all. I have an aunt who lives in Mt. Angel, and since I turned 21, her house has become basecamp for our yearly endeavors at the Mt. Angle Oktoberfest in September. This year I'm considering making the journey by bike, and am in need of some advice on how to get to Mt. Angel from Southeast Portland, near Foster/i205.
I figure the ride will give the biers an even more refreshing flavor.
Thanks for the help

I haven't spent much time on Hwy 213 - but that looks to be your most direct route. Around Oregon City and hang a right at Marquam. There are a number of great roads heading south from ~Canby as well (Barlow, Meridian). I'd recommend the Canby Ferry long before 99E (if 213 doesn't look very bike-friendly).

I'm mostly concerned with traffic on 213. Meridian looks like the next best bet. Looks like it's time for some google maps recon

You might be able to get a route that far south with bycycle.org. It seems to me I could at least get it to give me a route close to Mt. Angel.

I've gone out of Oregon City on High St, which turns into SS End Road. SS End Rd ends at 99E, which isn't too bad into Canby, only a mile or so. At Canby I take Barlow Road all the way to Monitor, then on Monitor Mckee Rd to 214, only a mile on 214 into Mt Angel. Nice and easy ride, you'll probably have a nice tail wind.

I've been looking at Barlow Rd and Meridian Rd, trying to decide between those two from Canby to Mt. Angel. I'll be heading into Mt. Angel from the east on E College Rd.
Do you know of any real differences between Barlow and Meridian?

Very similar from my experience. I've been on both roads a handful of times.

Awesome. I'll take Meridian, since it meets up with College Rd on the East side of Mt Angel. And if I'm not too hung over, I'll try out Barlow on the way home!
Thanks for the input, I'm starting to get excited for a nice ride followed by some delectable beers.
