I will be visiting Portland for a week between 12/10 and 12/17 (Wed - Wed). My goal is to get the know the city well in preparation for a move later this winter. I'd be happy to buy a beer or coffee for anyone willing to share some time to discuss the ins and outs of living in Portland, neighborhoods and the rental market, getting around, etc. PM me for my email and we can exchange contact info.
I'll be renting a road bike from Waterfront and am packing my rain gear, so if you're up for a laid back ride, I'd definitely be game for that too.

Consider a trip up to Seattle as well. The 'economy' is a little stronger up in Seattle than
in Portland -- though everything is headed for the crapper as I write this. Nonetheless,
Seattle has a lot more software firms with a higher wage base.

The alternative is only whether the crisis should come sooner as a result of a voluntary abandonment of further credit expansion, or later as a final and total catastrophe of the currency system involved." -Ludwig Von Mises
