New additions to my Seattle "bike shop collection"

Some of you collect bikes. Some of you collect bike photos or bike experiences. I "collect" bike shops; places I like to visit and put on my list for repeat visits when I can. I'm always looking for an excuse to spend a bit of parts/accessory/chain lube money locally...

Here's some places that are new to me...

Worth a visit, IMHO:

2020 Cycles
Seattle, the central district.

Used bike shop by day, performance space by night. Like a very small version of Recycled Cycles -- a bunch of used bikes, a service department, and both new and used parts. In the central district at 2020 Union. Seem like very good people to know, esp. if you are interested in older bikes or urban transportation.

Ubrdo Cycle and Mountain Supply

Downtown Kirkland.

Small mountain gear and bike shop started a year or so ago by former manager of Montrose Cycles, Kirkland. Surly, Swobo, Gunnar, others. Definitely worth a stop if you're doing the loop around Lake Washington, it's right on the route in downtown Kirkland.

Angle Lake Cyclery

SeaTac.

This place has been around forever (51 years) but I had never been there until I dropped in after dropping my wife at the airport a few weeks ago.

Wow. Not your typical Seattle bike shops. More folders (Dahon, Montague) and recumbents (Rans, Bachetta) and general "stuff" than I'd ever seen in one place.

New Counterbalance store on the Burke Gilman, U-Village

http://www.counterbalancebicycles.com/

This is the shop that replace the old Ti Cycles location just north of U-Village. Very nice place, very friendly. I stopped in when they were just opening some time ago; now it's fully finished and full of great bikes - Jamis, Surly, Salsa, Independent Fabrication, Co-Motion, Civia. Definitely worth a visit. Same people who run Counterbalance in Queen Anne.

Of course I have not abandoned my old favorites:

And I wished I lived closer to:

Just can't have too many bike shops!

Oh, if I only had that many options - 3 in Yakima and one in Ellensburg. I've just got to figure out a way to get over the mountains more often.

I'll add that I really liked Two Wheel Transit in Spokane when I was over there last. Very helpful and friendly.

I've bought five bikes from Dale at Angle Lake. He is the only one that stocks Alex Moulton Bicycles in the NW that I know of.
