Ellensburg Manastash Metric ride-2008

Got up and drove over to Ellensburg to do their Manastash Metric a couple of weekends ago only to discover the ride had been cancelled in the last few days.
Not only was this one of the better fall rides in Washington State it has had a reputation for staying rain free.
So does anybody know what happened?

I posted a message a few weeks ago about the metric being cancelled, the website gave no reason, only that it would be on again next year.

Looks like a nice ride, too bad it was canceled for 2008. I hope it is on for 2009, I will make a point to do it when it comes along.

I was thinking of doing it too, but saw 1bluetrek's post....thanks. It was somewhat surprising that the organizer's did not post anything earlier on their website that it was being cancelled. I, too, would like to do it next year. Instead, I planned on going for a solo ride down around Goldendale and the Columbia, but wasn't able to make it happen.

I bet the weather had something to do with it being cancelled ,i was over that way on saturday and it was blowing to beat the band. It would be hell to pay fighting that west wind all the way to Cle Elum. Although the trip back in would have been blistering.

I called the United Way people in Yakima and evidently the local group in Ellensburg is no more.

I live in Ellensburg and from what I have heard it was a sponsorship issue.

And, yes, it's a great ride. Hope to have you all next year.

Let's see - 20 acres - plenty of camping space and a trailer for a guest house that sleeps 6 comfortably - yeah, I think there's space for some cyclists.

Looks like there is new sponsorship this year - RSVP of Kittitas county. The website has been updated with the new date. T-shirt included this year with the registration.
