Sunday and Monday were great in the Willamette Valley. I rode 38 miles on Sunday and 55 miles on Monday. Flowers everywhere, fields are bright green and birds very active....it's spring!!

Saturday club ride of about 47 miles from Maud Williamson State Park (northwest of Salem) to the Tulip festival near Woodburn and back via Mt Angel. Bright sunny day, starting out in the mid-30s but warmed up quickly into the 60s. Sunday afternoon solo ride in the valley around Corvallis/Philomath of about 26 miles, with temps hovering in the low 70s. Perfect riding weather for the first time this year.

I'm a westsider but want to do more rides in the Wenatchee area. Rode Rock Island Grade last year and really enjoyed it, although the graded county roads were a bit troublesome on my road bike- need wider tires. One of these days I want to do this masochistic loop out of Wenatchee: SE out of town to Rock Island Grade, follow county roads west and north over to Badger Mountain, and burn up my brakes on the descent on Badger Mountain road coming back into town.

On Sunday I had my wife drop me off at Quincy and rode back to Wenatchee, about 28 miles. Awsome. Going to do Wenatchee to Entiat this week, building up to my first century in June.

Pre-rode the Ridge to River course today, some kind of evil weather came through and tossed me around for awhile. Coming back in my car the weather weenies were predicting SNOW.
Got to pull for better weather for Sundays race, I did the bike leg down from Mission Ridge one year with the first few miles on snow covered road; normally one cracks 50mph in the first 3/4 of a mile, not that year though.
Rdem you must be looking to do the Apple Century, good job.
