Saw another Davidson on a ride today

This may not surprise you guys/gals in the PAC NW, but in NYC that's the first one I've seen in 15 years other than mine, which I also happened to be riding at the time. He was as surprised as I was. I was coming from R&A cycles where I had bought a front derailleur cable to replace the one that snapped on the ride after 28 years on the bike.

His looked to be possibly repainted as it didn't have a downtube decal, although it had the signature on the top tube. Why that caught my eye I don't know but that's what I recognized, plus the stamped seat stays.

Even here they aren't so common that we see them every day. Do you have photos of your bike, so we can see how good it looks still?

Sure, here's a pic:

I've replaced the front derailleur and the crank, but not the bottom bracket, since the photo. And now the cable. The front derailleur clamp broke on the original not that long ago. The only other original parts now are the stem, bars, bb, rear derailleur and the paint. Everything else has been replaced over the last 5 years or so. It dates from 1981.
