Eugene advice?
Hey all, I will be coming from Vancouver island for the Eugene marathon, my training calls for a 4.5hour ride the day before, any suggestions on a 80 mile route? I hear there are a lot of bike paths around..
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There are tons of options! Go to any bike shop Paul's, REI, Hutch's, etc. and pick up the Lane County bike map. It shows bike paths and popular biking paths within the city, as well as about 25 longer rides around the county.

I'd be happy to have coffee and look over maps, and maybe ride along and show you a ride. Send me a PM when you know when you'll be in Eugene and we can discuss. I'll also make a couple of maps for you, do you want hills? We have some great rides in this area!

Here are a couple maps of great rides. The first one is about 50 miles with just little rollers, and very nice roads. The second is a 100 miles, but you can see on the map that it's easy to make it much shorter by just coming back into town at a few spots.
I'll be around and can ride next week, I'll be working for the marathon on Friday afternoon, so I'll need to watch the time. I like to show off the riding here, and I may be able to save you some hassle finding your way around.

Weather is looking pretty wet in Eugene for Saturday and Sunday. The most rain is expected on Saturday, less on Sunday.

It was a pretty decent ride, there are definitely some great roads around her! loved the scenery.
Had to cut it a bit short, due to the beginnings of a cold, still got out for 3 hours though, lots of other cyclists around!
Now off to run the half in the pouring rain...
