Road Rides Portland/Beaverton area.

Hi folks
I'll be up in the NW in June and was wondering if any of you had some suggestions for some medium length (25-40 miles)road rides either from downtown Portland or from Beaverton? Or just some suggestions on good directions to head, anywhere in the region. I will be needing to get out of my Mom in Law's house, so I need a good excuse!
Thanks in advance!

My 40 mile route route from downtown portland is
eastbank esplanade south
springwater corridor east
122nd north
marine drive west
portsmouth south
portland blvd east
vancouver st south
past the rose garden and over the steel bridge back to waterfront park.

Mostly bike lanes or bike paths with only a few difficult connnections.
Fairly flat too. If you can do 25 miles with some hills you can do this 40 mile loop.

Thanks for the tips...the reason I asked for a shorter version is that I'll likely be dragging (in a trailer) my old pooch. The trip past the rose garden and over steel bridge sounds great!

I like to take West Union out toward Hillsboro. There are some excellent, well-paved country roads just north of Hillsboro. To get a rough read on which roads are suitable for biking, check out this link:

I did close to this ride last Saturday. It's really, really nice. My friends and I have been playing around with Bike Route Toaster recently- here's the ride we did:
