Where to find somoene to donate to.
Didn't really know how else to title this.
Here's what's going on. I have this old mountain bike that I fixed up but it's way to small for me. It's like a 47cm. I've decided I want to find someone to pass it along too, but I don't want to take it to Goodwill and have some random person find it for 20$...
I wanna find someone that either is, or has, a kid that wants to learn to ride or continue to ride and needs a bike. I want to give it to them just as a 'Keep rollin', continue the sport.' type of thing.
Anyone know where I should look?

Not sure I wanna go that route. Craigslist, as much as I enjoy it's service, tends to feel to 'schemey'. If that's even a word.

Contact Cascade Bicycle Club. They can probably direct you somewhere legit. I think if you give it away on Craigslist you're likely to see it for sale a week later.

I've donated a few old bikes (good ones) to BikeWorks, the bike co-op in the Rainier Valley that does good things for kids and biking in general. They wanted to make sure I wasn't giving them department store junk, but once they saw the bikes they were happy to have them.
They resell the bikes to raise funds for the co-op, or strip the parts and use them in their bike-rebuilding projects for kids.
There's a new co-op closer to downtown Seattle called The Bikery that also will take donations, according to their website.

I'll have to check out BikeWorks. Cascade sent me a response to my e-mail and said they have a program called 'Major Taylor' which gives bikes to inner city youth BUT.... the ones that don't get used go to Africa.... I'm not saying that's bad, but that's not exactly what I want to do with this bike.
