Arrrgh! Another bike shop closing
Black Diamond Bike Shop is closing its doors. This is a LBS I actually liked. I hate this economy!
A message from their homepage:
Dear Friends, yes the rumors are true. I am sad to announce that Black Diamond Bike is closing its doors.
A Huge Wall to Wall Store Closing Sale will begin Thursday January 21st at 10am Sharp to liquidate Every Single Item of Merchandise! Prices will be slashed on all bikes as well as all other merchandise including Clothing, Repair Parts, Tools, Shoes, Skis, Snowboards and much more!
Our Doors are closing forever we must sell all merchandise, store fixtures, furniture and equipment.
We have initiated this sale to thank you, our loyal customers and friends, for eight years of business while at the same time meeting our obligations to our industry partners and family. The economy has taken its toll on us as well as many others. We will deeply miss working with all of you and hope to see you on the road, and on the trails. Peace.

Sad. Pretty soon there won't be any LBSs left, unless you count Performance and REI as LBSs.

I wouldn't consider Performance an LBS, nor REI. At least REI has decent customer service. I plan to be at the 21st Sales Finale to score some deals on winter and spring gear.

Peter and the team at BD Bikes were top notch. Peter has also been very active in the ongoing efforts to develop new riding trails in the area right around the shop and those efforts were just starting to pay off. This shop will be missed.

We're sorry to hear that BDB is closing down. They were indeed one of the better shops in our area.
We've been fortunate enough to be stable through the recession with a similar high service quality business model, and would encourage bikeforums East Siders to come and visit us as a friendly local alternative to the larger bike shops and web vendors...
