Going to Olympia for transportation Advocacy Day!!

I intend to ride to the Amtrak station and take the train to Olympia to ride and rally at transportation advocacy day tomorrow.

I booked a hook on the train, and am riding to the capitol for general mucky-muck and a sit down with my state legislator. Going to wear the houndstooth blazer and focus on a two item agenda -

Support for the vulnerable user bill, and that cost/benefit analysis of transportation funding consider associated public health and environmental costs.

Going to reread Pucher's powerpoint presentation to New York stakeholders, to see if I can glean some good factoids to drop about the costs of motoring versus active transportation.

Oh, and the Thunderhead alliance report on investment in active transportation.

Hope to see some of you there!

It couldn't be easier, when you make your reservation and buy the ticket online, you push the button for bike space and the $5 is added to the ticket price. When you get to the station they give you a tag for the bike and you take it to the baggage car, place the bike on the hook and go to the passenger car for coffee. Before the stop where you get off the train be sure and tell the conductor that you have a bike in the baggage car that needs to get off the train, they'll radio the Engineer so the baggage car can be opened. Take the bike off the hook and ride away from the station, nothing could be easier.
Those voices in your head aren't real, but they have some great ideas
