Yeah have fun!
I am not sure what your experiance level is, but it is not supported as well as the STP so you will want to carry tools, tubes etc. And of course nurishment, There are rest stops at Lake Stevens and Mt Vernon on the First day, And Ft Langley and Vancouver on the 2nd day You will be in remote areas a bit on the first day between Snohomish and Mt Vernon. Be prepared for a lot of hill climbs. You will be riding on a lotof chip seal after Mt Vernon!
Saying all that it is my favorite ride that Cascade puts on. With the 1500 rider cap you will not have to many issues woth bike traffic jams like you experiance on the STP.
Best of all they buy you a beer in Vancouver.

The sole thing keeping me from doing the ride. It's only 300km, why no 1-day option? I know there's some "remote" areas, but I've ridden 200 and 300km brevets in far more isolated and far less supported conditions.

There really is nothing stopping you from doing it in one day. You just won't have any afternoon food stops but by then there is enough civilization you don,t have to worry and you will have to wait until Saturday to get your free beer
