I highly recommend Tacoma Bike. Had a wheel rebuilt for commuting and nothing but praise for the guys and service...

Trailside in Orting. Brian built a set of wheels for me about 3 years ago and they are as true now as the day I got them. No experience with the other guys but Bike Tech seems to be pretty good. I've heard good things about Old town in Tacoma

I'll throw in another for Tacoma Bike. Went down there for my first shopping excursion, got a tool, a headlight, some shorts, etc. I would have bought my rain jacket there, too, but they didn't have my size. The staff is really helpful, and everyone was kid friendly, which was awesome. They were knowledgable, but not trying to sell me the most expensive gear available. I'm definitely looking forward to gear and bike upgrades with them in the future.
Where's Bike Tech?

Oh, and abarth-my wife went into Old Town when we lived in the North End, and she said the people who worked there were pretentious with people who weren't cycling fanatics. Maybe it was the same salesperson.
PS, I see you love soup.
