There are a LOT of hiking and biking trails in Portland. I would just do some research or buy a trail book at Powells. Also, I hope you like beer b/c the beer is literally amazing in Portland. Here's a few popular ones that come to mind.

For biking, there's the 40 mile loop, Forest Park for mountain biking, and Sauvie Island. For hiking, there's Forest Park, Multnomah Falls, and Mt Hood.

Portland? Lot of options.

Check out traillink.com - RTC's national database of bike trails. This should get you started...

<https://www.traillink.com/trailsearch.aspx?tn=&st=OR&ct=Portland&sp=N>

Then google around till you find the Portland metro bike map.

BTW - if you want some fun - the Banks Vernonia Trail (linear state park) with a wooden trestle and more is just west of the city.

This is one of the best rail trail rides in OR. The other is the Row River Trail out of Cottage Grove. both have camping, so you can make a weekend of it.

Closer in is the Springwater Corridor...

For Mountain Biking, you'll want to connect up with the Norhwest Trail Alliance. These guys have done a lot of good work on access, trail work, etc.
