Route Advice

I am not very familiar with the cycling over in the Kirkland/Redmond area, but I am going to be there next week taking a class in Kirkland and staying at a hotel in Redmond.

While at home, in Wenatchee, I commute daily by bike. I would like to continue that next week, and I think I saw that the 520 has a bike lane which is very cool if true. I will be over there Sunday afternoon to get settled before class on Monday morning, but any advice/comments about riding in Kirkland or Redmond, or the commute between them, would be appreciated.

Where in Kirkland and where in Redmond? Makes a big difference on the route selection.

SR-520 has a nice bike trail paralleling it for a while. However, you're more likely to want to use Old Redmond Road which is more direct and a steadier gradient. As woodway says, give us more details and we can give you more

Redmond has an excellent bike map which covers most of Kirkland as well.

I will be going back and forth between the Redmond Inn, which is near Marymoore Park (I probably didn't spell that right) and the Yarrow Bay Office Park in Kirkland (10604 NE 38th Pl).

Go to google maps and put in your origin and destination and then click the "bicycle" icon. Google will give you the same route that I would take (except right near the end, google seems to take you further around than need be) - through Marymoor Park, up the 520 trail and then down Northup to your destination. You'll be on a MUP through the park and along 520. You'll be on the road going down Northup, but it's not a bad road to ride on. Good luck.
