Buying riding gear...in Seattle..
Hi All,
I am in the market for riding tights and helmet to start with. Which would be a good place to go ? I know there are many LBSs around but any particular preference/suggestions ?
This is my first bike and I want to start riding as soon as possible before it gets too cold so a riding tights and couple of layered Tshirts on top with a fleece jacket should get me going correct ?

REI is a pretty good place to buy bike clothes. Another place with a decent stock of stuff to look at is Gregg's.

Saw your other thread. Nice bike for Seattle. I know others will disagree but I like the triple ring setup for an area as hilly as it is around here. And the bars are set up high enough to be comfortable but the drops still can get you down out of the wind. You could flip the stem for another inch or two or take out spacers if you want lower bars later.

I wear a Marmot Precip shell on and off the bike. The arms are a little flappy in the wind, but nice overall.
Helly Hansen has a good shell HALF OFF right now.

Only bummer is I don't think it's stuffable like the Precip, which you can stuff into one of its own pockets and it packs to about 6x6x4".

Mainly I will riding long distances and touring On thus bike. I will never race.
