Beaverton Ride during the middle of day on a weekday - July
I am coming to Portland area July 11th, and will assemble my bicycle in Beverton, and am looking for a 10 - 20 mile ride to test the bicycle before the STP. I tried a search on Mapmyride.
I did not see an out and back ride starting near SW 166th Ave. & W. Baseline Road. There looks to be a bicycle trail going north that starts to the east near the SW Kiey Way intersection of W. Baseline Road, but it seems to not be very long trail looking at Google maps.
If some one could direct me to a mapmyride.com bicycle route in this area I would certainly appreciate you kindness. Also is there bicycle repair shop near SW 166th Ave. & W. Baseline Road, in case I need something i forgot to bring, or has become damaged during shipping.

I wish I could help you out, but I'm more familiar with areas further south. Hopefully someone from the Beaverton/Portland area will notice your post and help you out. Beaverton is a busy place, but a quick look on Google maps indicates there are bike friendly roads all around your starting location.
I'd assume you know about clicking on the bicycle icon when loading Google Maps.
Dark green = multi-use trails (no motorized vehicles)
Light green = streets with bike lanes
Dashed green = other streets recommended for cyclists
You should have no trouble finding a good route through the area. (I hear the Fanno Creek Trail is pretty nice)
Any people from Beaverton have a comment on this suggestion?

For a bike shop, I would suggest Bike Gallery: 12345 SW Canyon Rd Beaverton, Oregon 97005
As far as a route, riding up to the zoo and back would give you a decent ride with some climbing. I would suggest using the cycle route option on google maps as mtnbud suggested. If you do that, 6 or so miles of your round trip will be on a bike/walking path along highway 26. That is the only route I know of, because when ever I go on a long ride, I get the heck out of Beaverton!
also, you can head west on Baseline out near the Hillsboro airport. I have gone as far as that, can't tell about what is beyond.

There are some great roads just SW of that area. Maybe take Farmington out towards Tile Flat and River Roads? Grabhorn is a great climb. I don't know the area well, as I've mostly ridden up to those roads from the south.
If that Bike Gallery is crowded or booked up, there is a Performance just a few blocks north.

Less than 4 miles to either Bicycle shops from SW Kiley. Appears I will need to ride East along SW Jenkins, South on SW Murray Boulevard, east on SW Millikan, Spot checking the satellite photos on Google Maps, they all appear to have well defined bicycle lanes. Are any of these roads a rice rocket racing courses or bumper to bumper traffic with aggravated drivers, I need to know about? I guess I will find out what riding a bicycle in the North West is like not to soon in the future. I believe i am going to enjoy the weather in the North West in July, today here in Vegas it was over 100 and I know it will be quite warm trying to do 60 miles mid day, in the pedals tomorrow...

You are very close to Nike, where I work and there is a daily training ride at noon.
We go north on 158th and climb one of the many hills to Skyline.
If you want to go flat check out West Union Rd plenty of miles there.
Performance shop is close by and so is Bike Gallery.
If you have time ride through Nike, if you have not see it.

Have never been North of Shasta Lake in California on the West Coast. This will be my first trip outside of the Southwest in 15 years. Haven't a clue what riding in your area is like, here we have open wide shoulders on some major roads. I ride with 55 MPH plus car traffic on Boulder Highway often between Las Vegas (Sahara) & Henderson (Railroad Pass Hotel & Casino). Red Rock, River Mountains Loop Trail and Valley of Fire are some of the more scenic out of town rides to enjoy on a road bicycle here in the Vegas Valley, but I imagine things will be quite different in the pedals in your area, especially the seeing all the green in the Portland area.
If you could review this route I have constructed using your West Union Road suggestion I would appreciate, your local road knowledge.

How late is the sun still in the sky up there in July? I haven't got a clue about Nike being located in Portland, but my Nike brand riding gloves have traveled all over the Vegas Valley...
In addition to riding to the Japanese Gardens, I have also been looking for a flatish ride from SW Kiley and to Couch Park near NW 20th Ave. & Glisan Street, Portland. It appear to only be about 11 miles, but was trying to find a southern route, that would loop round and miss the major hills shown on Google maps before the STP, but I am told I can take my bicycle on the Max and get close to the park from Beaverton.

Will be in Oregon in less than 30 days, the weather is getting warm here in Vegas to ride during the day, and I looking forward to a day time ride in and about Beaverton...

Riding to the Japanese gardens will take you over the hill from Beaverton to Portland. It is about a 600-700ft climb in about 5 miles or so? You can indeed take the max if you are looking to skip hills in this trip. If you hop off of the max at the zoo and take Kingston down to the Gardens, you will have had the train do most of the work for you and it is just an easy downhill ride through the forest to get to the Japanese gardens.

Was late getting bicycle back from a busy Bike Gallery, and managed to leave my helmet, shoes, gloves, jersey and a few other items in a paper bag at the Beaverton Central Max Station near the bike shop. Got back to cousins home, and could not find the bag with gear, walked back to Elmonica/SW 170 Max Station, and when I arrived at Beaverton Central Max Station I discovered my paper bag with gear intact was still at the station 2 hours later, (Thank you Beaverton Max Riders)
On Thursday.I started my ride, immediately got lost trying to negotiate/find 158/170 and after a few short miles I needed the bike shop for another tube to replace a flatted tire, On the way back from bike shop a local rider was eating outside Biscuits, and I joined her for a coffee and discovered many different areas to ride, and discuss the differences in Vegas and Beaverton riding. My entire stay I never found a busy street tI was out on my bicycle, you do not have any traffic compared to the street traffic here in Las Vegas...
Thank you for your wonderful hospitality, the safe harbor of my forgotten gear at the Max Station, and the cool temperatures in July for riding. My entire trip was wonderful, the STP experence was also very good...
