2013 Reach The Beach

So... Who's going?

I'm pretty excited. I did the 80 mile route last year, and I'm going for the full century this time. I hope the weather stays nice (knock on wood...).

I'll be there doing the 100. Are you riding a bus back? I'm trying to find somebody to drive out and get me or drop a car, but no luck so far.

I'm in!

This will be my first year doing Reach the Beach. The starting point is just a couple of miles from my house, so I'm actually going to be able to just roll out my front door for this one. Getting home, not so much. My wife and a daughters are going to have a day at the beach and bring me back.

I am actually going to going to stay at my folks' in Lincoln city that night and my wife is driving out to meet me. I have heard that the bus is a pretty good option, but make sure to reserve your spot early!

Hey, I am starting from my house as well (Cedar Hills)! Have fun out there, I will be on a blue Salsa Casseroll if you happen to see me out and about.

I'll be out there again this year. Last year I took the bus, which was fun due to the cyclists in the two seats in front of me. They loaded up on junk food and beer and were sharing it with everyone. This year I'm debating between the bus, having my wife come get me, or lucking out and getting a ride with another cyclist.

I wanted to do the hotel thing, but $$$ didn't work out this year.

I'll be doing the 100 miler again, still undecided on whether I'm taking "Old Faithful", my workhorse Trek 1000 or "Mistress Pain", my lovely Trek Madone.

I'll say hello if I see you. I'm easy to spot. I'm the guy with the Maryland state flag jersey.

Looks like it'll be rainy on Saturday. Now I have to go buy a rain jacket!

I ended up missing the ride. I'm headed to school in the fall, and my transfer student orientation and class selection was on the same Saturday. I'm disappointed to miss the ride, but there is always next year.

I don't think I saw you, Spooky. Given the weather I was slightly less recognizable, but maybe you saw me. I was the guy in the yellow rain jacket.
