This is why I like Nibali. He is the only guy who will "sort of" break the Omerta code, even though he's probably doped to the gills as much as Froome is. Called out Valverde "I can't believe how good he's riding/never seen him so good" is pretty much calling someone a doper. Throwing a bottle at Froome a few stages back, and now attacking him when he's down, it's kind of weak sauce, but since I dislike Froome, I'll let it slide . That quote from Nairo above is also interesting. Expressing surprise at how good Froome can climb is a mix of arrogance (he's already kicked your butt on stage 10) but also a bit of what Nibali did talking about Valverde. All these guys speak in their own language, and it's all translated, and things in different languages are nuanced in different ways, but I think all the negativity toward Sky is making some of these other guys a bit bolder.

Froome put his hands up high, made the "T" sign and the commentators said the purpose was to calm the peleton (presumably to keep them from blowing out early for no reason). They went on to say that it is not unheard of and only race leaders (aka yellow jersey) can exert such authority. TVG joined very soon after.

I think Nibali's move was quite of bad sportsmanship. He looked at froome and went like a rocket. Froome has every right to be upset by his move, BUT I think in his position it's too much to yell at Nibali after the race and make a big deal out of it. He can go out and prove a point on the road tomorrow and attack Nibali.

Frankly it was nice to see the GC actually race. I remember jens sort of defending nibali, so did the desk commentators. I enjoyed the racing.

Exactly - Desk Commentators. Kinda like some on this board. I'll go with Jens opinion any day. Jens: "I disagree (to the other commentators) If it was the last climb maybe but not with 50-60km away, you don't look the yellow jersey in the eye and attack the moment you seem him stop for a mechanical." Some say Quintana didn't go with Nibali because he didn't have the legs. B.S. He could have easily won the stage and put serious time into Froome but he didn't. I have all the respect in the world for Quintana.

I expect Quintana to attack from the start of the Ad'H. Sky will be expecting this so will try to have as many team mates as possible with Froome at the bottom of the climb.
I believe Thomas & Roche weren't bluffing on stage 19 and are genuinely struggling to keep up, less certain about Porte.
Anyway it's going to be a historic showdown and I expect Froome to still have at least a minute's lead going into the final stage.

Up at 4 am again to watch . . . GC attack on Col de la Croix de Fer? On Alpe d'Huez? Or not at all?

Movistar attack on Croix de Fer, Valverde then Quintana got about 25 seconds but first Porte and then Froome brought them back going over the summit. All GCs in a group of about 30 riders chasing breakaway 4 minutes up the road.
Quintana to win stage, Froome to win GC and KOM.

Stage 2 really hurt Q's chances. He's trying hard, but he's run out of mountain stages to gain back the deficit. Maybe next year...

It's over. Froomebot wins the tour despite Quintana chewing a minute out of him.

A feel-good stage for the French! Pinot shows he's got the physical stuff. I hope he can get mentally tougher and give France its champion.
I was rooting for Q to do a Herrera, and he rode like the best climber in the world - I actually saw his mouth open! - but Pinot had a big lead and turned himself inside out too. I figure Q'll get even stronger - he's very young still! - but he'll need to develop as a TT'er because the TdF will eventually have long TTs again..
Great effort by Hesjesdal, despite being the most unpretty pedaler next to Froome, he's an inspiring fighter.
Froome defended himself well and didn't blow up, and he only needed to do the latter. I think I was hearing long boo's when he rode through the crowd, and that is really without class. He is a deserving winner of the Tour - proved everyone wrong on the cobbles and in the x-winds, came out of the first rest day on fire, and stood up to all the attacks on and off the bike.
Okay, who's the pick for the Champs Elysee sprint?

Well done Pinot, Quintana tried and tried and credit to him, Porte was fantastic.
Froome is a great winner, not the most stylish but still a gutsy great GT rider.

Great finish. Pinot making it two in the Alps for the French, Quintana showing he is the best climber, Froome showing he is the best all around rider, a top five consisting of the best 5 riders our there. Really enjoyed this Tour.
For tomorrow, I think I would like to see Sagan finally win. Probably Griepel though.

Q did Alpe d'Huez 26 sec faster than his 2013 ascent. 39:22. Almost 2 min faster than Pinot.
Subiendo como una moto: Alpe d'Huez: Quintana super fast and Croix de Fer record!

Gonna be Griepel again in the least interesting result possible. I'd rather see Sagan quite honestly. Dude has fought hard for a stage win and not gotten the result yet.

Another piece of low life video'd spitting on Froome on the Alpe today. The guy was wearing the full polka dot gear. All he had to do was walk into a store and hand over some money, should show some respect for a guy who actually earned it.
These people aren't cycling fans.

Froome had a rock stuck in his brake, in his own words, he said he stopped, rolled the wheel backwards and the rock came out, how long does that take? 10 seconds tops? Nibali beat Froome by a lot more than 10 seconds. Also it had absolutely 0 affect on Froome's GC, he is a whiny ****.
Hahahahahaha yup.
