Did US TV show the Bouhanni sticky bottle incident? He hung on for around 10 seconds at a time when he was struggling after a fall. Nowhere near as fast/long/blatant as Nibali but still very obvious and it wouldn't have harmed him in getting second place.
He and his team were just fined 100 Swiss Franc fine each. A lack of consistency imo that is likely to further p*ss off Astana and Nibali.

Sagan 2nd AGAIN.
Good thing he won yesterday or people would be asking questions. Roche missed a trick by not holding on for 3rd and the 4 bonus seconds, any little bit helps when you're seconds off the leader's jersey. And Valverde is just having the season of his life, at 35! As long as a 2013 EPO sample doesn't reappear, of course...

Bouhani got a 100Fr fine, the team got a 100Fr fine. The team car involved got relegated to the back of the car convoy for today....and then the DS mouthed off to the commissaires over the matter, earning an additional 200Fr fine. So all totaled, 400 Swiss Fr-although half of it was for the DS not knowing when to swallow his pride and shut his trap.

Universal sports network. You can probably see it a few hours later (or maybe a day later) on cyclinghub.tv.
As for Bouhani as I recall they told him to stop and he did. Nibali's action was egregious. The punishment was appropriate.

I really enjoyed that stage.
The last 4 k was great. I was surprised such a big group made it together to the end on those narrow, steep streets. And that last turn off the highway, wow! Nice riding.
Gutsy ride by TJ today coming back from that accident. That construction zone they passed through was treacherous.
Did Talansky catch the group after his mechanical?
Valverde is just a tremendous talent.
Sanchez took off like a shot at the end, but faded. Thought he might make it.
So here we have another country, Spain, which is supposedly nearly "bankrupt", and yet the roads throughout the country are pristine! Same with Italy and France, and they're also "broke". I live in perhaps the richest city in the world, NYC, yet the roads here are so bad, so broken down, and so decrepit that they more resemble third world goat paths than modern roads and boulevards. We have something like 20 candidates running for President, and not one mention of the crumbling infrastructure! Maybe they should watch a GT! Unbelievable!
sorry, rant over!

I watched it also via firstr*wsports (at your own risk). That little hill near the end of the stage was just sick, they must not have been going above 5 mph up that thing at times.

i'm not exactly crying a river with nibbles being kicked out of the vuelta. astana hasn't exactly been the most up-and-up pro tour team since their inception.
always lots of smoke floating around them with the occasional fire...

I can't comment on NY, but the UK and its cities have some crappy roads, but they didn't choose those for the 2012 Olympic cycling or last year's TdF starting stages. (and some road repairs help!)

I have NBCSN, but no Vuelta. There is a Fantasy Football show on this morning though.

Caleb who?
Not exactly a household name.
Nine Americans in the Vuelta, and only TJ has made an impact so far. Although watching Howes almost get his bicycle stolen was a funny moment!
Why is Trek here? Why are they anywhere?
Rather bland stage today, but no accidents was a plus. I think the peloton needs days like this...

The Vuelta, like the USA Pro Challenge, is not on NBCSN. It's on Universal Sports Network, which is a different NBC channel. I had to buy an extra "Multi-Sport Package" on Dish to get it, and addition to what I already had.

Chaves wins again and back to the red jersey. Didn't know this lad was that good. Dan Martin again close but not quite there.

Dumoulin impressed today too. Not that I expected the Big Names to overextend themselves today, but I was surprised to see nobody taking his wheel when he chased Chaves.

He's won stages to Mountain High (Tour of CA) and Verbier (Tour de Suisse), so he's not just a puncher. I can't see him hating tomorrow's finish, and Saturday is another 4km summit.

I see. Didn't really follow Tour of California or Switzerland, was busy enough with the Giro and Dauphine respectively. Looks like he might be able to hold on to that jersey for a little longer then. As for Dumoulin yes, he has been looking really good. Giant must be happy with him, especially with Kittel injured and Degenkolb failing to win much even if he has been close several times.

Looks like the GC contenders keep losing time to Dumoulin? Chavez? Martin? Really?
The TDF Froome would have blown past these guys without a breaking a sweat. Same with Quintana, and even TJ wouldn't have had much trouble. But they all seem to be struggling to stay up with these guys. I know they are probably picking and choosing their big stage to make a real move, but they can't keep bleeding off seconds like this. These 3 riders are for real. Dumoulin is especially surprising.
Going to be interesting!
