american stage winners
I heard that there are only 7 americans that have won a stage at the tour...George Hincapie, Lance Armstrong, Greg LeMond, Andy Hampston, David Zabinskie, Tyler Hamilton...so who am I forgetting?

Darn, Smoothie beat me to it! Phinney actually had two Tour de France stage wins: one in '86, one in '87.

I remember watching Jeff Pierce win, I couldn't believe it at the time, but I remember it like it was yesterday. I was 15 years old. I used to have all those TdF's on VHS tapes, but they were lost or taped over in the past 20 years... damn... I wish I had them now, I'd copy them to DVD's and share them with all you guys...

Awesome photos. Some pearlers of Sean Kelly. I love that one from Lombardia where he's ripping Martial Gayant's (?) legs off.
