Lance's Spinal Column Spurs

On OLN there was a mention of Lance having bone spurs in his back.

Is it at several vertabrae or just one or two?

Anyone know which vertabrae?

Was it caused from some specific injury or is it from the years of riding the bike so much?

Is this common among tour riders?

If I remember correctly from Chris carmichaels book... He has a fractured vertebra, not sure which one, caused by an accident early on in his career..
