Race to Replace theme song
What song out there would best tell the Race to Replace Lance story?
I need a theme for my online series that launches on May 15th and figured cyclists would be the ones to ask.

How about "Riders on the Storm" by the Doors?
The "Riders" concept works, and the feel and tempo of the song seems like it would fit really well with images of cyclists slogging through the grind.

How about "Centerfield" by John Foggerty?
The lyrics would be emphasized by interweaving old baseball footage with cycling footage... The hopeful, competitive mood of the song could be right on target for the theme.
It could be especially appropriate for the American audience...

Are you looking for Anthemic and reverential or are you looking for pulse-pounding? Are you looking for something cycling oriented, not related at all, or instrumental only? Are you thinking about genres? Hard Rock, progressive, jazz, blues, C&W, bluegrass, etc?
If you're leaning in a general direction, that'd be good to know.

Also let us know the style and look of the graphics. Whenever I'm doing a music search, that usually dictates the feel and tempo of the music.

I have no idea what the "race to replace" Lance story is. Are we in a hurry to replace him?
Here's some good riding music...
Organ Donor DJ Shadow
Whats on Your Mind (Pure Energy) Information Society
Learning to Fly Pink Floyd
MoFo U2
Gone U2
Vertigo U2
Little Wonder David Bowie
I'm Afraid of Americans David Bowie

I agree with some of the other posts. What is the mood of the show going to be like? That would help tremendously on song selection.

Replace Lance! Impossible! How about:
Train in Vain - The Clash
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - U2
or
I Must Be High - Wilco
Just kidding. Actually I like the Rider's on the Storm suggestion.

I'm rocking Pearl Jam's "State of Love and Trust" and "Go" right now...
"Go" off of Vs. has this quirky intro, then hits you square in the mouth...might be interesting. Give it a listen.
