Podium Girls

Don't you think they should show the whole awards ceremony? I'd like to see the KOM, green, and white jerseys as well as the maille jaune. Furthermore, to make the TDF more Superbowl-like, why don't they do features on who the podium girls are? Every time George Hincapie gets up on the podium, my wife says "No, George, don't do it again!"

me like podium girls!....infact, the whole TDF could be vastly improved if podium girls did the actual racing in wet T-shirts & wrestled in jelly for the leaders jersey!......instead of jerseys for KOM & sprint king, we could have jerseys for 'best breast implants' or 'most likely to wear a G'........(sigh)....roll on the Le tour into the mountains, this is getting distracting!

One can't help but feel bad for them. Forced to kiss some smelly dude twice on both cheeks, after a 6hr stage, some(riders) in their excitement haven't had time to wash/wipe.

"Bicycle Race was a hit single for the British rock band Queen. It was released on their 1978 album Jazz and written by Queen vocalist and pianist Freddie Mercury.

The song was inspired by the Tour de France, a long-distance bicycle race held once a year in France. Mercury was in a hotel watching the Tour de France go by his hotel one day when he was inspired to write "Bicycle Race". To release this song, Queen staged a bicycle race with 65 naked girls."

. . . I think I read somewhere that they auctioned off the saddles afterwards?

Don't feel bad for them. There's 1000 women waiting in line to take their place. It's a great opportunity for each podium girl.

Vuelta girls are hotter though.

It is three in France, two in Italy. However, some riders have not caught on yet.

There have been some benefits for them though. They marry riders (Richard Virenque, for example), and have trysts under the grandstands with riders occasionally (anyone remember which rider that was?).

And Big Georgie Hincapie.

Not sure about the trysts.
