Why are we only on Stage 14, but have 23 codes???

I spent a few evenings guessing words at more-or-less random, just to see if they'd work as codes, and some of them did. E.g., I guessed "tourmalet" several days before it was actually displayed on the TV.

I wonder if they have any logic to basically ensure you don't win if you use a word before the day it is given?

I think they have logic built in to make sure that you don't win, regardless.

Yeah, I read the rules and apparently it's set up so that the yellow jersey is given out at a random time during the day, so if the time ends up being 2:33 AM that's just tough for us...

It's all good, though--a little headache is worth it for my Saab and Cervelo...
