He told me the kind of bike the team was on, might as well have told me who won. BTW no spoilers in this thread please!

Don't feel bad, I never listen to NPR but did so today to catch the news yet avoid hearing about the tour. Silly me, as they had an interview with Phil Liggett right after the finish. Oh well, you can only grin and bear it...

Ugh. Well I still enjoyed the stage but there was absolutely no drama in the race for the win on the day from where I sat. Still, a magnificent stage. A real gift to see.

Tell this person that the other shoe has fallen in the Spanish doping affair, and that their favorite rider (still in the Tour) was fingered and will have to abandon the race.

I got another spoiler today. This time it was a coworker.

Clearly, next year, I must stay home and watch the stages live or else be subjected to the mercy of fools.

Still this is better than combing the results page of the Sports section on the final day as it was in the old days.

But on the other hand it is soooooo frustrating.

I conveniently worked from home today (thank you DSL!) and while I can't watch TV, lest nothing get done, I was following along on cyclingnews.com with the stage. Needless to say, at a certain point I just HAD to run to the other room and rivet my eyes to the incredible doings!

I didn't realize that OLN would go commercial free through the tense part of the live coverage. Seemed like 20+ minutes where I didn't get informed that Saabs were borned from bi-planes. Kudos to them!

Does it matter that much? do you have to have the suspense of the final outcome to make it interesting? Personally, even though I look to see the outcome as soon as I can, I'm still very interested to watch the video in the evening to see how it all unfolded, and just because I enjoy watching bike racing. Even if you know who won, there's still a lot to see actually watching it.

Yeah I mean for sure it is still great to watch the race unfold, even if you know who won. But sometimes the final outcome is real unexpected and that is part of the drama of it.
