cadel evans = wheel suck
i don't think i've ever seen evans when he wasn't attached to someone's rear wheel.
i'll give evans his props by being a good rider but you don't win le tour by being a wheel suck.
Allez Floyd Landis!

I'm not convinced Evans is at 100% of his form. He looks like he is missing an couple of percent of explosiveness and power to me. Maybe the others are just that much stronger. Fifth after the mountains still a good effort though.

Evans was one of my favorites to win this year, especially after Basso & Ullrich were booted. I've been waiting for him to attack for the last 3 days, I agree that we just doesn't look 100%. I don't think I'd be putting down a rider that has consistently been finishing the mountain stages with the leaders and sits 5th overall. Remember this is only his second tour. Hopefully the ITT suits him well and he can move up a couple more places.

To be in the top 5 in the TdF you have be more than just a strong rider, but a smart one. Cadel may not be winning many fans or friends doing as much wheel sucking as he is. But if you're not able to go on the offensive and make it work, don't go backwards by trying and blowing yourself up. He's riding smart for as strong of a finish as he's able to with what strength and ability he has right now. But as this Tour has shown time and time again this year - if you want to get ahead - you've got to take it yourself.

I agree but to give him credit he did try to attack on the last climb today... then went out the back.
He's just not quite good enough.
